Since 1978

48 years of pulling water out of Jefferson County ground

A & M Pump has been drilling and servicing water wells out of Festus since 1978. That is long enough to have drilled the well at plenty of the houses we get called back to, and long enough to know what the ground does from one side of the county to the other. Depth, yield and casing are not guesses here, they come from decades of holes in this same dirt.

We stay small on purpose. The person who answers the phone knows the crew, the crew knows your property, and the job gets finished by the same people who started it. When your well quits, you are not explaining your situation three times to three departments.

What We Do

Three jobs, done properly

Drilling, pumps and repair are all we do, and we have done them here long enough that most calls start with a neighbor's name.

New Wells

A new well is the whole job: siting the hole, drilling it, casing it, grouting it and getting a pump and pressure tank producing water you can drink. We give a free estimate before a single thing turns, so you know the number going in.

Most people come to us because they are building on raw ground, because a rural water hookup costs more than it is worth, or because the old well on the property has finally given out. Once it is in, the water is yours. No chemicals added, and nobody billing you by the gallon.

Well Pumps

Pumps wear out, and the wrong pump wears out faster. We size the pump to the well and the house, not to whatever is on the truck, then set it, wire it and check the pressure tank and switch while we are there.

Submersible or jet, replacement or first install, we pull the old one and leave the system running before we go. If the well is deep or the yield is low, we will tell you that too, because a pump cannot fix a well that will not give water.

03

Well Repair

Air spitting from the taps, pressure dropping off, a breaker that keeps tripping, cloudy water out of nowhere. Something is wrong down the hole or in the line, and the fix depends on finding which.

We diagnose before we sell anything: check the pressure switch and tank, test the pump and wiring, look at the casing and the pitless. Sometimes it is a hundred dollar part. Sometimes the well is done. Either way you hear it straight.

No Water Today

A dry tap is not a wait and see

Losing water stops everything: no showers, no laundry, no livestock, no dishes. Call the number below and tell us what the system is doing. We will work out over the phone whether it sounds like the switch, the tank, the pump or the well, and get a truck headed your way.

Where We Work

Wells across Jefferson County and the ground around it

We work out of Festus and cover the towns, subdivisions and farm roads around it. Much of this county is on private wells rather than city water, which is why we have stayed busy here since 1978. If your place sits past the end of the water main, it is our kind of job.

Not sure whether you are inside the area? Call and say where you are. We will tell you straight, and if it is too far we will say so rather than waste your afternoon.

What People Say

Neighbors who still have our number

Most of our work comes from people passing the name along at the feed store or over a fence. References are available if you want to hear it from them first.

  • Woke up to no water on a Monday and had A & M in the driveway before lunch. Pump was shot, they pulled it, set a new one and we had pressure back the same day.
    Dale R. · Festus, MO
  • They drilled our well when we built out past Hillsboro. Gave us the estimate up front and the final number matched it. Water has been clean and steady ever since.
    Megan T. · Hillsboro, MO
  • Second opinion after another outfit told us we needed a whole new well. A & M found a bad pressure switch and a leaking line. Saved us thousands and said so plainly.
Curtis B. · De Soto, MO
  • Same family has taken care of our well for over twenty years. They know the property, they answer the phone, and they do not talk down to you about it.
Janice M. · Crystal City, MO
